Assignment 2-Dictionary Exercise

Equestrian adj. 馬術
Connected with riding horses, especially as a sport: equestrian events at the Olympic Games


Hurdles n. 跨欄賽跑
A race in which runners or horses have to jump over hurdles


Shot‐put n. 擲鉛球
A sports event in which you throw a heavy metal ball called the shot as far as you can


Gymnastics n. 體操;體育
A sport involving difficult physical exercises designed to increase your strength and ability to bend and balance
EX: When she was young she practiced gymnastics


Archery n. 箭術
The sport of shooting arrows from a bow


Fencing n. 劍術
The sport of fighting with a light thin sword


Martial arts n. 武術
A sport that is a traditional Asian form of fighting such as karate, judo, or kung fu


Field hockey n. 陸上曲棍球
A game played on a field by two teams of 11 players who use curved sticks to try to hit a ball into the other team’s goal in order to score points


Wrestling n. 摔角
A sport in which two people fight by holding each other in special positions and throwing each other


Javelin n. 擲標槍
A sports competition in which someone throws a javelin as far as they can


Water polo n.
A game played in water by two teams of seven players who get points by throwing a ball into the opponent’s goal

That's 10 sports that I'm not quite familiar with,but I didn't find the Water polo's Chinese translation and   example sentences from the dictionary except Gymnastics.
